The economy is the issue at hand at present time, even over the environment. In a gallup poll taken in march of 2009, 1,012 adults were asked: "With which one of these statements about the environment and the economy do you most agree -- [ROTATED: protection of the environment should be given a priority, even at the risk of curbing economic growth (or) economic growth should be given priority, even if the environment suffers to some extent]?" Fifty one percent say that economic growth should be priority and forty two percent say the priorty should remain with the enviorment. The results of this poll are really not too suprising, given the current state of our economy. What I do find interesting, though, is the fact that the question even includes "if the environment suffers to some extent." I thought that people would still take the environment more in consideration then the results showed. I am also interested in what the results would be a few months or years down the road.
